Rose with Julie Cruickshank for Pauline Bewick's Birthday, 2010
Hi again, the mermaid was wonderful in July. Farkas is going to put be putting up a nice version of ‘The Man with the Moustachios’ song on my home page.
Then Farkas and I went to Dzogchen Beara for a Buddhist retreat. There I sang, ‘The Cabaret Revolution of Love,’ which was appropriate and a very sacred dedication for me at the end of three beautiful weeks. There was so much love and goodness there – I felt it got into places in my heart the devil would be afraid to touch. So, I’d like to give something back – there may be a big fundraiser at Easter. I’ll keep you informed.
Anyway, Regine Bartsch, a wonderful artist (look her up, it’s well worth it) saw me sing and recommended me to her friend, the well-known painter, Pauline Bewick for her birthday celebrations. So last week, Julie Cruickshank (my lovely accompanist) and I made ourselves up as grandly as we could and set out to Pauline’s new exhibition on Kildare street. The paintings were full of happiness and courage, fun and spontaneity – and, I was to find them very similar to their painter, Pauline, who was grace and spontaneity itself.
We did the gig upstairs in ‘The United Arts Club,’ and it really was great fun. The food and people were wonderful. Farkas got some nice footage and photos. So that will all be put up this week. We’ll also be doing a few numbers in the Origin Gallery this Friday coming, on Friday 17th. The plan is to do another gig in October there. I’ll keep you informed. It’s a great Gallery beside the Iveagh Gardens. I’m always most at home performing in artistic surrounding with painters around me, so it should be good. love rose xxx
