The Sugar Club was packed to the brim with people in corsets and fishnets, tattoos - and alcohol problems. In other words, it was wild - and unpredictable - and a roaring Cabaret success.
I had a great time - being dressed and undressed back stage with the usual chaos - and doing my thing on stage with a really fun bolshy crowd.
Loved meeting all the burlesque girls - Chrys Columbine, Miss Honey Lulu, Millie Dollar and Lady Catalina. Chrys Columbine ‘danced us to the end of Love’ by Leonard Cohen- and that end was very surprising and revelatory. I am sure the man himself would have loved her take on it. She really isn’t just a pretty face - or just a pretty anything else for that matter.
So to finish, it went so much it’ll be a regular thing. So the DUBLIN BURLESQUE BALL is tipped to be a regular thing at the Sugar Club. And so is Rose Lawless, as MC. Thanks Mario, the Impressario, as I call him with GREAT FONDNESS. CIAO, Rose xxx
